John was witty and cynical and a truth teller and looking back ... well, bagism, the long straggly hair, the naked Two Virgins album cover: this was all so honest & meant to shock us & move us away from fluffy image of populism to an understanding that there are bad things in the world and we bear some responsibility to influence the world for good.
